Wine and toddy shops will remain closed in the Cyberabad area on April 23, as will bars attached to restaurants, due to Hanuman Jayanthi celebrations, as per a directive from the Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad, Avinash Mohanty.
"In exercise of the powers vested in me under Section 20 of the Telangana State Excise Act, 1968, I, Avinash Mohanty, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad, do hereby order in interest of public peace and tranquility that the wine/toddy shops, and bars attached to restaurants (excluding bars in star hotels and registered clubs), within the jurisdiction of the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate remain closed from 6 am hours on April 23 to 6 am on April 24 on account of Sri Hanuman Jayanthi celebrations on 23.04.2024," Mohanty said in a release.
A similar directive was issued for the Hyderabad region too yesterday.
