Former minister and MLC Mohammad Ali Shabbir on Tuesday demanded that the ongoing debate on State Reorganisation Bill in both the State Legislative Assembly and Council should be concluded by January 23.
Speaking to media persons at the Legislative Council's media point here, Shabbir Ali strongly opposed the demand for extension of the present deadline, January 23, to complete a discussion on the Telangana Bill.
He said that the legislature should wind up the debate as per the deadline set by President of India Pranab Mukherjee.
"This would facilitate the Parliament to take up debate on the Bill, and pass it during the next session scheduled to be held in February," he stated. (INN)
