After 2 adjournments of over an hour, the AP Legislative Council was adjourned for the day following continued deadlock over the AP State Reorganisation Bill.
After 2 adjournments of over an hour, the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council was adjourned for the day following continuation of deadlock over the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill.
The Council could not take up any transaction with the MLCs from both Telangana and Seemandhra region stalling the House.
The Telangana MLCs demanded withdrawal of notice served by the Leader of the House, and Endowments Minister C Ramchandraiah, under Rule 77 seeking a resolution in the House to reject the Telangana Bill.
The Seemandhra legislators insisted that the House take up voting on the Bill.
Council chairman Dr. A Chakrapani adjourned the Council for an hour at about 10.05am.
A similar situation prevailed when the House reassembled at about 11.45am and the Chairman was forced to adjourn the House for an hour again.
There was no improvement in the situation when the Council met again, and finally the Chairman adjourned the House for the day. (INN)
