Hyderabad | 31st October 2020
Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao today said that he would resign if the BJP leaders proved their charges that the Centre was offering Rs 1,600 to each pensioner in Telangana.

Speaking after starting a Rythu Vedika at Kodakandla in Janagam district, the CM slammed the state BJP leaders for carrying out what he claimed was a misinformation campaign on pensions.

"The BJP leaders have continuously resorted to falsely blaming the government and misguiding the people in their campaign for the Dubbaka Assembly seat. I will resign as the Chief Minister and return home if the BJP leaders prove their allegations on the pensions," KCR said.

He said that the NDA government at the Centre offered just Rs 200 per month to pensioners, while the TRS government offered Rs 2,016 to each. The state government spent Rs 11,000 crore towards pensions benefiting 38,64,751 pensioners, while the Modi government spent a paltry Rs 105 crore a year to benefit only 6,95,000 pensioners, KCR claimed.
