MLA Threatens To Quit Cong Over T-Issue

Botsa said that the Congress party would not be affected if some people snap their ties.
Hyderabad | 19th November 2012
Giving clear indications that he might quit the Congress party, former minister Komatireddy Venkatreddy on Monday threatened to resign from the MLA's post if the Centre fails to grant statehood for the Telangana region.

Talking to reporters, Komatireddy said that the Centre should immediately announce a clear roadmap for the formation of Telangana. Threatening that he would resign from the membership of the Legislative Assembly, he said that further delay in taking the decision on the statehood issue would lead to the collapse of the state government.

Komatireddy also slammed Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao for pursing electoral politics by pressing for a separate Telangana. He said that it was inappropriate on the part of KCR to speak about seats and votes without having a clear focus on the statehood agitation.

Giving a hint that he might join the YSR Congress party after his exit from the ruling party, the former minister said that people feel that Jagan's arrest was illegal and politically motivated. (INN)
