A leader of the ruling YSRCP in Andhra Pradesh Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy today said that the party would demand the merger of Andhra Pradesh with Telangana.
Speaking to media persons in Amaravathi, he said that his party had been opposing the division of the State right from the beginning, and that the party would always try to reunite the two Telugu-speaking States if there was any scope to do so.
He added that both the Congress and the TDP had favoured the division of the State, and that it was only the YSR Congress Party that had fought against the division all through.
He said that the problems related to the division of the State were still not solved even eight years after the division, showing how poorly the division was executed. He also pointed out that there was a case filed in the Supreme Court challenging the way the division had taken place.
He added that most people of the State felt that the division was done without any logic.
