CM's Sops Helped TRS Win Singareni: Opposition

The Congress and the TDP also claimed that the TRS has paid the voters to vote for it.
Hyderabad | 6th October 2017
Telangana TDP president L Ramana today said that the Singareni workers had voted for the TRS-backed union TBGKS attracted by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's sops announced just three days ahead of the workers' union elections, and not out of genuine faith in the party.

The ruling party had feared defeat in the elections and that was the reason the CM organised a media conference just three days before the elections and announced the sops for the workers, Ramana told the media at the Jangaon party office.

The TDP president also alleged that the ruling party had adopted illegal methods for winning the elections, specifically that it had won using commission money from the Bathukamma sari purchases.

Congress senior leader V Hanumantha Rao, too, alleged that the ruling TRS party has won Singareni elections by tempting the workers with liquor and money.

VHR alleged that in addition to all the assurances KCR had made to woo the Singareni workers, the TRS leaders distributed Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000 per worker for their votes.
