Criticizing Seemandhra leaders for foiling the Telangana martyrs meeting convened at Mahabubnagar district last Saturday, Secunderabad cantonment MLA P Shankara Rao on Monday questioned the placing of former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's portrait in the meeting.
Talking to reporters, the cantonment MLA said that the meeting was organized to recall services of those who laid down their lives for the cause of Telangana statehood.
"How can we place former chief minister YSR's portrait who supported integration of the State?" the MLA questioned.
Rao also posed the question why were the photographs of national leaders that included Indira Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi not placed in the Odarpu yatra of Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
The MLA sought strong action against those, who were behind the disruption of the martyrs meeting.
Rao demanded that the Congress party pay financial assistance to those who laid down their lives for the cause of Telangana.
