The YSRC Party, in its meeting on Wednesday, has most likely considered the late YSR's daughter Sharmila to temporarily lead the party since party president Jaganmohan Reddy would not be out of the jail before March 2013.
The party on Wednesday said that the final decision on who will lead the party temporarily will be taken after Jagan's wife Bharati, Sharmila and mother Vijayamma meet him at Chanchalguda jail on Thursday.
The leaders in their meeting, decided that a program involving mass contact needs to be launced. They are in a fix about whether Sharmila should start with a padayatra like her father in 2003 or complete the Odarpu Yatra started by her brother Jaganmohan Reddy.
Sources say that both Vijayalakshmi and Sharmila have been considered for leading the party, but that the latter's name was most likely to be chosen due to the former's health issues.
The party wants the final decision to be taken by their leader Jagan, who is currently in Chanchalguda jail. A final decision will be taken by Thursday afternoon.
