CPI Telangana secretary Chada Venkat Reddy alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was deceiving the people of the state by not fulfilling the promises he made during his campaign for the last elections in 2014.
The CPI activist staged a "Maha Dharna" at the Ranga Reddy Collectorate on Friday demanding that the government allot house sites to the poor.
Addressing the protestors, Chada alleged that KCR, who had assured two-bedroom houses for the poor, was not fulfilling his promise.
He asked the Chief Minister, who was allotting lands for big industrialists at cheaper rates, why he was not allotting lands to the poor.
He warned the state government that the CPI would intensify the movement if the government failed to take over lands from the big "babus" who had encroached upon government lands in Hyderabad.
A large number of people from various localities participated in the Maha Dharna. (NSS)
