Andhra Pradesh Animal Husbandry Minister S Appala Raju today said that the government would start ruling the state from Visakhapatnam in the next couple of days.
He said that Vizag was like the heart of the northern part of the state, and that it was heartening to declare it as the executive capital.
Speaking to media persons, he said that all people of the state were happy about the decision. He alleged that opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu was trying to stop the decentralisation of the governance of the state to protect his political interests, and reminded the people of the state that the Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy had decided to set up three capitals for the state as per the recommendations of the Sivaramakrishna committee. He said that the decentralisation bill was introduced to avoid any kind of differences among the people of the state.
He also said that the Chief Minister had constituted the G N Rao committee for the development of the state capital.
