Warangal By-Poll: TDP Says TRS Distributing Money
Senior TDP leader Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy alleged that the TRS was distributing money through the cops to lure voters for the Warangal by-election.
Hyderabad | 10th November 2015
Senior leader of the TDP Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy today alleged that the ruling TRS was distributing money through the local police to lure voters for the upcoming Warangal parliamentary by-election.
Addressing the media at the NTR Trust Bhavan, Ravula urged the Election Commission to keep a strict vigil for such malpractices, and said that his Party would lodge a formal complaint with the Commission in this regard.
Condemning the propaganda of Telangana IT Minister K Taraka Rama Rao against the BJP-TDP combine candidate Dr P Devaiah, Ravula said that the TRS was making false statements fearing defeat. He reminded that KTR, who was in the US like Dr Devaiah, had himself contested the 2009 elections after returning home from the US (KTR had said that the TDP-BJP needed to "hire" an NRI to contest the elections since they did not have a strong local candidate).
The TDP leader also alleged that KTR's father and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was also indulging in electoral malpractices by diverting funds to make gains in the GHMC elections.
Ridiculing the distribution of dustbins in Hyderabad, Ravula said that KCR, who had lured Opposition leaders to his "pink bin", was now trying to woo the public with the distribution of dustbins.
KCR had made tall promises like Rs 10,000 crores for the development of slum areas, a dozen bridges across the Musi river, 50 flyovers and a Rs 20,000-crore outlay for making roads in the city signal-free. But the CM could not fulfill even a single promise, he lamented.
He demanded that the government release a white paper on the promises made to the public by KCR before and after the elections.
