A bandh for educational institutions was declared in Warangal today, by the Telangana JAC. However, the situation turned violent when Kakatiya University (KU) JAC students discovered that a degree college in Warangal was defying the bandh and staying open.
The JAC activists stormed into the place and created a ruckus, and even damaged some furniture. Police had to butt in with a lathicharge, and even took some people into custody. Quite a few people are reported to have been wounded in the incident.
Attacks on mediapersons led to journalists staging a sit-in at the SP's office, protesting against the police's behaviour.
Meanwhile, some KU JAC activists, in retaliation to an incident of YSR Congress Party workers beating up KU students (which, in fact, led to
KU JAC agitators burning a jeep) during the former's 'Sagu-Poru' for farmers yesterday, picketed the DIG's office in Warangal.
