The Third Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court at Nampally finally granted bail, though conditional, to Congress youth leader Vikram Goud in relation to
the case in which he had himself shot by professionals.
Dealing with the bail petition filed by Goud's counsel on Saturday, the Nampally court directed him to sign at the police station every Sunday.
This was Goud's fourth attempt at getting bail. The other accused however did not have the same luck - they continue to be in jail.
It may be recalled that Vikram Goud had himself shot at allegedly to get the sympathy of the people of his constituency, and to get his creditors to lay off for a while. After the incident, he underwent treatment at Apollo Hospital as bullets went inside his body.
After collecting evidence, the police came to the conclusion that Goud was a key person in the episode, and shifted him to remand after arresting him once the doctors at the hospital declared him fit for discharge. The police also arrested another five members along with Goud.
