Senior Congress leader and yesteryear actress Vijayashanti on Tuesday asked Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao whether he would induct a woman into his cabinet at least now after observing the appointment of a woman as a Deputy Chief Minister by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and the appointment of another woman as Home Minister.
Taking to her Twitter account, Vijayashanti said that the Telangana CM had not made any woman leader of his party a cabinet minister either during his first term on in the second. She alleged that the silence of the CM over the issue despite repeated barbs about his not finding even a single woman in the State fit enough to be a cabinet minister reflected his callous attitude towards the women of the State.
Separately, Vijayashanti also raised the issue of actor-turned-YSRCP-MLA R K Roja Selvamani not being inducted into the AP cabinet by Jagan. She said that it would be fair for the leaders of political parties to utilize the services of actor-turned-politicians for serving the people as well after using them to pull crowds for election campaigns, and expressed hope that Jagan would induct Roja into his cabinet in the future.
