YSR Congress Party honorary president Y S Vijayamma, on Wednesday, appealed to prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh to institute a judicial probe into the functioning of the CBI, which is probing a disproportionate assets case against her son and Kadapa MP Jaganmohan Reddy.
Talking to media persons, Vijayamma said that the PM had responded positively to her suggestion, and that he had assured her that he would look into it after consulting the officials concerned.
Vijayamma said that she had asked the PM why her son was being targeted by the CBI.
She also claimed that her family members were being ill-treated ever since the death of former CM YSR, and that they were being persecuted by the CBI.
Asking why YSR's name was included in the FIR filed by the CBI, she said that the PM had praised his schemes and programmes and described him as a role model for development. She also said that YSR had acted as per rules and regulations in the allotment of lands for industries, and that Jagan was no way connected to them.
Vijayamma appealed to the PM to get the case investigated by a sitting Supreme Court judge. MPs Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, Sabbam Hari and MLAs accompanied Vijayamma. (INN)
