Jagathi Publications Limited Vice-Chairman Vijay Sai Reddy, on Wednesday, filed a petition in the CBI special court in Nampally, seeking permission to leave the city on a pilgrimage tour for 6 days.
In a petition filed before the court, Vijay Sai Reddy, the second accused in the case of YSR Congress party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy's disproportionate assets, stated that he needs to go to Tirupati and Shirdi for 6 days on a pilgrimage.
The court, after hearing the arguments of Vijay Sai Reddy's counsel, directed the CBI to file a counter petition in this regard.
Earlier, the then Judge of the CBI court, B Naga Maruthi Sharma, on 30 April, while granting bail to Vijay Sai Reddy, had imposed the condition that he must take prior permission from the court to leave the city.
The CBI later challenged the verdict in the High Court, to get the bail cancelled, and the court is yet to pronounce its verdict on the petition. (INN)
