The CBI Special Court, on Friday, adjourned the hearing on Vijay Sai Reddy's petition seeking permission to use his laptop without an Internet connection inside the prison, to 23 January.
However, the CBI counsel raised serious objections to Vijay Sai Reddy's petition. The counsel said that the laptop can be used to send messages to influence the witnesses in the case.
Instead, the CBI counsel suggested that Vijay Sai Reddy be allowed to use some white paper, a pen and a type writer.
In a rebuttal, Vijay Sai Reddy's counsel stated that he, being a reputed chartered accountant, has been dispensing financial advice to various companies.
"The laptop is necessary for him to complete his pending tasks," his counsel argued.
They went on to further assure the court that the laptop will not be misused, and that it will not have any Internet connection.
After hearing the case, the Special Court posted the petition for another hearing on 23 January. (INN)
