Veteran Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao today slammed TPCC chief and MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy for the latter's alleged inaction against those leaders who were threatening and abusing him (Rao).
The veteran leader urged AICC state in-charge, Manickam Tagore, to take cognisance of the matter and to "focus on the affairs of the party at least now". He also urged Tagore to appoint a new TPCC chief after taking into consideration the views of all the important party leaders.
VHR said that it would be unwise to consider those leaders who had recently joined the party for the post without considering the views of the Congress veterans and other senior party leaders.
(He had made
similar remarks some days ago as well.)
He also advised the party's high command to focus on the reasons behind the failure of the party in Telangana.
Elaborating on this, Rao added, "There is a need to move beyond our failures and mistakes to establish the Congress in the state. The high command should take the steps to enable this and should move ahead with the objective of staging a comeback in the 2023 Assembly elections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken the decision to administer free vaccines to all those who have crossed 18 after a demand by our party's national president Sonia Gandhi. We are a strong organisation and will succeed with the right actions and guidance. We must bring up important issues into the public domain regularly. Critical matters like fuel prices must also be discussed by us. People should see that we will work for them."
