Devi Vara Prasad Passes Away
Veteran film producer Devi Vara Prasad, who was suffering from gastric and respiratory ailments, passed away on Friday.

Veteran film producer Devi Vara Prasad passed away on Friday at KIMS hospital, Secunderabad, while undergoing treatment for gastric and respiratory ailments.
According to hospital sources, Prasad was admitted to hospital on Tuesday with several health problems including high BP and diabetis. He was shifted to the ICU where his condition deteriorated. He was 68 years old.
Hailing from Vijayawada, Devi Sri Prasad has produced a number of hit films under Devi films banner that includes 'Kondaveeti Raja', 'Alluda Majaka', 'Gharana Modugu', 'Manchi Donga', and 'Chattamto Poratam' with mega star Chiranjeevi, and 'Kedi no. 1', 'Tiruguleni Manishi' 'Nadesam' with the late NTR.
His last film 'Mrugaraju' with Chiranjeevi is said to have thrown him out of gear, and landed him in deep financial crisis.
Later, as if it was a final attempt, he made the film 'Bajantreelu' directed by M S Narayana, with which his financial condition further worsened. From then on, he is said to have been struggling with his health and financial problems.
According to family sources, Prasad's last rites will be conducted in Vijayawada on Sunday.
TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu and a few film personalities visited the hospital and consoled his relatives.
