BJP senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu on Tuesday criticised MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi for praising the Nizam during the debate on Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill in the State Legislative Assembly.
Addressing a press conference here, Venkaiah Naidu said that it is improper for an MLA to praise the Nizam who had created anarchy through Razakars.
He said that Akbar Owaisi did not mention anything about the attrocities committed by Razakars during the Nizam's rule.
"One could understand if Razakars hailed the Nizam, but MLAs praising him is highly objectionable," Naidu stated.
The BJP leader also reiterated his party's support to the Telangana Bill, both in the Assembly and Parliament.
He said that the BJP is in favour of a Telangana with 10 districts with Hyderabad as its capital.
Speaking about BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Venkaiah Naidu said that there should be national debate on the "Idea of India" unveiled by Modi.
He said that Modi's presentation of his vision of India, at the concluding session of BJP National Council meet, has instilled confidence among the cadre, who assembled from across the country.
"Narendra Modi touched upon every subject, spoke about every issue, outlined every challenge and responded by offering his solutions. He also said that the government will focus on 5Ts - talent, tradition, tourism, trade and technology," he further pointed out.
Venkaiah Naidu said that Modi also urged the people to go by the track record of politicians and their party and then make a choice.
The BJP leader also condemned the Aam Aadmi Party and said that by its recent actions it has proved that it can "only agitate but cannot mitigate" the sufferings of the people, and is not capable of governance.
"It has proved that it is an Anarchist Aadmi Party not an Aam Aadmi Party. The day AAP agreed to take support of the corrupt and communal Congress and formed the government, it lost its credibility. That was a historical blunder," he said.
"The act of the president of AAP supporting his colleague, who was involved in an ugly spat with police, who took law into his hands and became responsible for denigration of India's image internationally, has further eroded its credibility," he added.
"The Congress is also in catch 22 situations, which after rushing to extend support to AAP to form the government, and to prevent BJP from coming to power, has now realised that it is also being condemned for the support extended to anarchist AAP," Naidu remarked. (INN)
