Why Delay Arresting Akbaruddin: M Venkaiah Naidu

Strongly condemning the delay in the arrest of MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi, BJP MP M Venkaiah Naidu railed at the police for being "cowards who are in the pockets of corrupt politicians" and "letting political consequences get in the way of justice".

"How come police who go around arresting people in the middle of the night have not tucked their tail between their legs when in comes to arresting someone who made such inflammatory remarks on another religion and culture? The MIM may say that their problem is not with Hindus, but with Congress and 'Sangh Parivars'. But, the video clearly shows him (Akbaruddin Owaisi) saying the most horrendous things about Hindus deities, and festivals, in the most insulting manner."

Further criticising what he called the placatory attitude of the MIM, he said that their assurances of cooperation, them saying they are not running away from justice, etc. ring hollow in the face of their constant delays. The MP assterted that the police shouldn't have to wait for their cooperation, or need their permission for it.
