Vatti Vasanth Kumar, who had submitted his resignation to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy within hours of being sworn in, met Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday.
Vasanth Kumar had resigned after expressing his dissatisfaction on being allotted an 'insignificant' portfolio.
He called on the AICC chief and explained to her the reasons that led to his resignation.
Talking to media persons after coming out of the meeting, Vasanth Kumar said that Sonia Gandhi gave him a patient hearing. He also said that the party President assured him that she would look into the issue raised by him.
He also vowed that he would abide by whatever decision the High Command took on his continuation in the cabinet.
The minister had earlier alleged that that injustice had been done to backward classes, scheduled castes and minorities while picking cabinet members.
Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has been facing murmurs of dissatisfaction since the time of swearing in, with complaints of members of the Reddy community being given a lion's share in the cabinet.
