Minister for Tourism and Youth Affairs Vatti Vasanth Kumar, who submitted his resignation late on Wednesday night expressing dissatisfaction and unhappiness with his new portfolio, stated that he would stand by his decision.
Releasing a copy of his resignation letter to the media at CLP Office on Thursday afternoon, Vasanth Kumar stated that there was no change in his decision.
"There is no question of withdrawal of my resignation," he asserted. However, he made it clear that he would continue as an MLA and a loyal worker in the Congress party.
Vasanth Kumar stated that he would meet Congress President Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi, and explain the reasons behind his decision to resign from the cabinet within a day.
"I will abide by whatever decision Soniaji takes on my resignation, but till that time I will stay away from cabinet meetings," he said.
He was conspicuously absent from the maiden cabinet meeting convened by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at the Secretariat on Thursday afternoon.
