The state government-owned TSRTC has increased the ticket reservation charges by Rs. 20 to Rs. 30 per reservation.
The revised reservation charges came into force from March 27, 2022. However, the corporation did not make an official announcement about the increase.
The passengers of the corporation have faulted the decision of the corporation to keep its decision to increase the charges a secret.
The authorities had already imposed a cess on diesel one week back. A cess of Rs. 2 has been imposed on ordinary city buses, and Rs. 5 on express, super-luxury and AC bus services.
The revised charges will come into force on April 16, 2022.
In addition, the corporation had also increased the fares by 10% in March in the name of roundup charges, toll cess and passenger cess.
The corporation has been facing huge financial losses owing to different problems including the coronavirus lockdown, and appears to be trying to find every route out of the quagmire.
