TSPSC Cancels Group-1 Notification, Issues New Notification

The Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) today cancelled the previous Group-1 notification for 503 vacancies and issued a new one.

The original notification was issued in April 2022 for 503 posts. About 3,50,000 candidates applied for the posts, and around 2,80,000 appeared for the preliminary examination.

However, the paper leak came to the fore after announcing the results. With this, the examination was cancelled. Later, the TSPSC conducted the Group-1 exam again in June 2023.

Meanwhile, many candidates took to court claiming that the rules were not followed in conducting the examination. The court ruled that the exams should be cancelled. The TSPSC approached the Supreme Court on the subject, but the arguments were not heard.

Officials said that a fresh announcement would be made soon, and sure enough, another notification was issued, but this time for 563 posts, as the State government has recently given approval for another 60 posts.

According to the notification, applications are invited online from qualified candidates through pro forma applications to be made available on the Commission's website https://www.tspsc.gov.in from February 23 to March 14 for various categories of posts under the Group-1 services.
