While in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, the Opposition's TDP recently accused the Jagan regime of unfairly targeting the party's leaders, in Telangana, BJP leader and former MP G Vivek today alleged that his party's leaders were being implicated in false cases in the state at the behest of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
Speaking at a meeting of party leaders at the Warangal Central Prison, he said, "It is deplorable that the TRS government and the CM have been focused on implicating BJP leaders in false cases. This must stop."
(The leaders had assembled to meet the BJP workers who had been arrested for their alleged involvement in the attack on TRS MLA Challa Dharma Reddy's residence some days ago.)
Vivekanand also lashed out at the state's police for helping the CM in his bid to falsely implicate the saffron party's leaders and workers.
He alleged that Telangana was descending into lawlessness as the leaders of the TRS had decided to take the law into their own hands, and added that they had been able to do so as they had the support of the CM.
The leader demanded that the government arrest the TRS workers who were involved in attacking BJP activists in the state.
Addressing the Ayodhya Ram Mandir issue, he claimed that the BJP had undertaken a mass donation drive to fund the temple's works in order to enable the people of the country to contribute to its building, and demanded that the CM and his son, minister K T Rama Rao, tender their apologies to all the devotees of Ram for their comments on the temple.
Just yesterday, BJP national vice president D K Aruna had also
lashed out at the CM for his "problem" with the construction of the much-hyped Ram mandir
