Hoisting of black flags, dharnas and protest rallies marked the "Telangana Betrayal Day" across the region on Sunday.
The activists of Telangana Rashtra Samithi hoisted black flags in all the districts of Telangana region. The TRS leaders expressed anger over the U-turn taken by the Centre 14 days after it announced initiating the formation of Telangana state on December 9, 2009. The leaders and activists wore black badges and organised different programmes across the region. In several districts, TRS activists organised marches to the offices of District Congress Committees.
Meanwhile, speaking on the occasion of the victory of the TRS-affiliated employees' union in the APSRTC, TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao said that despite several betrayals by the Congress-led central government, Telangana state would be a reality. He predicted that just like the RTC union elections, the TRS would sweep the next general elections in the region.
Condemning the recent statement of PCC President Botsa Satyanarayana, KCR said that it was wrong on the part of the Congress to seek TDP and YSRCP's stand on Telangana before clarifying its own stand. However, he said that all three parties, especially TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu, have become an obstacle for the formation of Telangana state.
KCR also warned that the people in the region would teach all anti-Telangana forces a fitting lesson. (INN)
