TRS Plenary, President Election On Oct 25, Foundation Day On Nov 15

The TRS plenary would be conducted at Hitex on October 25, and the TRS Foundation Day celebrations would be conducted in Warangal on November 15, party working president and state minister K T Rama Rao said today.

Rao held a key meeting with senior party leaders at Telangana Bhavan on the plenary and the Foundation Day celebrations. He then told the media at the party office that the two events would be conducted in a grand manner, and called upon the party leaders to come in large numbers and make the events a huge success.

"Due to the elections in May 2019 and the coronavirus pandemic after that we did not conduct the plenary since 2019. Now with a dip in cases and vaccination in full swing, the TRS feels comfortable conducting both the events on a grand note, even if we are not conducting it on April 27, our traditional date," KTR said.

He said that the process to select committees at the district, mandal and village level was over. To elect the party's new body a schedule would be released on October 17, and nominations would be accepted for the president's post till October 22. And on October 25 the party would elect its next president in the general body meeting, and continue with the plenary, to be attended by 14,000 party members and leaders, he said.

KTR added that former MLC Prof Srinivas Reddy would be the election returning officer, and Paryada Krishna Murthy would monitor the process. And former Speaker of the Assembly S Madhusudhana Chary would be the convenor of the resolutions committee, he said.
