In a significant boost to the TRS's ongoing efforts to clinch the Nagarjuna Sagar seat in the April 17 by-election, its NRI wing today also jumped into the campaign.
Speaking after releasing a pamphlet to be used in a house-to-house campaign for the TRS' candidate for the election, Nomula Bhagat, NRI Wing Treasurer Sathish Reddy Gottimukala said that the wing would support the party's candidate, Nomula Bhagat, in his campaign, and would help him win the seat.
Speaking on the occasion, Sathish Reddy said that the NRI wing of the TRS had been backing the party for 10 years now. He added, "We have been working for the TRS' success for a decade now, and have campaigned for the party's candidates in various elections in the past. This time, we want to ensure Nomula Bhagat's victory in the upcoming Nagarjuna Sagar by-election. We will be participating in a house-to-house campaign to inform the people about the TRS government's welfare schemes. It has been implementing a number of welfare and development programs unlike those implemented by any other state. The people of the state have benefitted greatly through the same. We are confident that highlighting the success of the schemes will allow people to see how committed the ruling party is to their welfare. Mission Bhagiratha, the Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bhima schemes, the pension plans, and the free housing program have helped the people of this constituency, too. They will surely support Nomula Bhagat as a result."
Ministers G Jagadish Reddy, V Srinivas Goud and T Srinivas Yadav, and MLA Balka Suman were among the others present during the launch of the pamphlet.
The TRS seems very intent on retaining the Nagarjuna Sagar seat. Many high profile leaders, including Home Minister
Mahmood Ali and Power Minister
G Jagadish Reddy, have been roped in to campaign for Bhagat.
