TRS MPs Continue Protests In LS On Farmer Issues

TRS MPs staged a protest today too in the Lok Sabha against the Centre over its "delaying tactics" on paddy procurement and farmer issues.

TRS MPs led by Nama Nageshwar Rao exhibited placards and demanded a debate in the session on the state's issues. They slammed the Centre for "deliberate attempts" to delay resolving the farmers' issues, paddy procurement and MSP. They demanded that the Centre come up with a national farm policy and an MSP act, and offer clarity on the farmers' issues.

The MPs further demanded that the Centre give Rs 25 lakh compensation to the kin of each of 750 deceased farmers of the state. The TRS government had already announced Rs 22.50 crore to give Rs 3 lakhs to each of the families, they said.
