Paddy Row: TRS Leaders, Farmers Block National Highways
Demanding that the Centre purchase the entire paddy produced in Telangana, leaders and activists of the TRS laid siege to national highways across the State.

Demanding that the Centre purchase the entire paddy produced in Telangana, leaders and activists of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) today laid siege to the national highways across the State.
The TRS leaders with farmers staged sit-ins on the Nagpur highway at Adilabad; the Bengaluru highway at Bhoothpur; the Vijayawada highway at Kodad, Suryapet, Nakrekal; the Mumbai national highway at Sangareddy; and other places.
At Bhoothpur in Mahabubnagar district on the Bengaluru highway, the protest was organised by Minister Srinivas Goud.
TRS MP Prabhakar Reddy and MLA Mahipal Reddy staged the protest on the national highway at Patancheruvu in Sangareddy district.
Minister Indrakaran Reddy led the protest in Adilabad district. He staged a sit-in on the national highway at Kadthal village of Sone mandal in the Adilabad.
TRS MLA Vivekanand, MLC Shambipur Raju and party activists staged protests at Kompally, near Medchal, on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
TRS leaders said that their protests would continue till the entire paddy was procured by the union government. They demanded a uniform procurement policy for the entire nation.
