TRS MLA Demands Ban On Kancha Illaiah's Book

Ganesh Gupta demanded in the Telangana Assembly that the government immediately ban Illaiah's controversial "Samajika Smugglerlu Komatollu".
Hyderabad | 9th November 2017
TRS member Ganesh Gupta on Thursday demanded that the state government immediately ban Kancha Illaiah's controversial book "Samajika Smugglerlu Komatollu".

Raking up the issue in the Assembly during Zero Hour, the ruling party member expressed serious concern over the book which he said belittled a particular caste, to which he, too, belonged.

Gupta appealed to the Chair to take the necessary action to ban the book as it had stirred a hornet's nest across the state.

The book had led to widespread protests not only in the two Telugu states but across the country, Gupta said.

Reacting to the demand, Legislative Affairs minister T Harish Rao said that the issue would be taken to the notice of Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy for necessary action.
