Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Ponnala Lakshmaiah has accused the TRS government of harassing the Congress workers in Telangana.
Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday, Ponnala said that select Congress leaders and workers were being harassed by using the official machinery.
He said that the TRS government was even cancelling the house allotments made during the Congress regime.
He added that the TRS had adopted a similar approach during the election campaign, which resulted in the defeat of Congress candidates.
Earlier, Ponnala conducted the review of the party's performance in the recent elections in the Nizamabad district.
Speaking about the same, he said that the Congress lost the elections as the voters got attracted to TRS' promises including farm loan waiver, 3 acres of land for each BC family, 2-bedroom apartments and 12% reservation for minorities among others. He said that the anti-incumbancy factor too had worked against the Congress party.
Ponnala also dismissed the reports of his removal from the TPCC post although he admitted that some leaders were conspiring against him.
He said that the Congress High Command was aware of such moves. (INN)
