Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Treasurer Gudur Narayana Reddy on Wednesday challenged Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to hold a protest in Delhi or elsewhere against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the "injustices" meted out to Telangana.
Questioning the silence of KCR and other TRS leaders over two major protests held in Kolkata and Delhi by the Trinamool Congress and the Telugu Desam Party respectively against the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre, Reddy said that by abstaining from the anti-Modi protests, KCR had proved his loyalty to the BJP and Modi.
He said that the Congress had supported both the agitations, and that AICC president Rahul Gandhi had addressed the day-long dharna held by AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. KCR however was nowhere to be found.
"When the entire Opposition was raising its voice against the injustices being done by the BJP government, the TRS staying silent only means that it is aligning with PM Modi," he alleged.
Reddy also ridiculed the TRS' alliance with the YSR Congress Party in Andhra Pradesh.
"KCR's Federal Front is proving to be farce with forces inclined towards the BJP joining it. The next elections are between the Modi-led BJP and the people of India. And while the Congress and other opposition parties are on the people's side, the TRS is clearly on Modi's side," he said.
