TRS MP K Kavitha today lashed out at Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for closing down Nizam Sugars and "betraying" the sugarcane farmers of the two Telugu States.
Addressing the media on Thursday, Kavitha alleged that Naidu had a notorious reputation for failing his people, especially farmers, for selfish gains. She alleged that the previous united Andhra Pradesh government had closed the Nizam Sugars factory on "suspicious" grounds, even though surplus sugarcane was being produced by the factory.
The TRS MP promised that the Telangana government would soon reopen the factory if the farmers were ready to cooperate. "Nizam Sugars will be restored to its past glory, and its production will once again be at full swing," the TRS MP promised.
Speaking on the allegations being made by the Opposition parties against the TRS-led government on the closure of the factory, she slammed them for making derogatory remarks against the government on the issue.
"The Telangana government paid Rs. 66 crores towards the arrears of the sugarcane farmers. Despite this, the Opposition leaders are deriding it for political mileage," she claimed.
