Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today lashed out at Telangana Congress president N Uttam Kumar Reddy for indulging in "cheap politics" by saying that 1.35 lakh voters had been removed from the former's home constituency of Sanathnagar to enable TRS gain in the forthcoming GHMC elections.
Addressing the media at the Secretariat on Monday, Yadav slammed the TPCC for being misguided by a "mindless" leader. 7,000 voters were in fact added in the constituency, enhancing the number of votes to 1.42 lakh, he said.
He also alleged that the Opposition leaders were making such malicious remarks for free publicity.
Referring to the Congress complaint to the Election Commission on the issue, the minister slammed the Party for false criticism, as the removed people anyway had a right to complain against the removal.
He also sought to know whether it was possible to remove such a huge number of voters in a democracy, and if the people would not revolt against the government if something like that happened.
"Uttam Kumar Reddy and other Congress leaders will go to jail for their complicity in Indiramma Housing scam," he said, adding that the TRS government would not spare them under any circumstances.
Also charging the Opposition Parties with carrying on a misinformation campaign on the suicides, the minister alleged that the problem was a legacy of the sins of the previous governments, which had failed to construct a single irrigation project, provide power for agriculture or clear the debts of farmers, and had also deprived them of seeds and fertilisers.
