Activists of the ruling TRS pelted stones on the convoy of Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar near the Arvapally procurement centre of Suryapet district today.
They also tried to attack the BJP activists who tried to welcome their state president at the venue.
The enraged BJP workers tried to counter-attack the TRS workers, and the incident led to a lot of tension in the area. Sensing more trouble, the police dispersed the activists of both the parties.
Bandi Sanjay faced a similar problem in Chivvemula, too, with TRS activists raising slogans against the BJP leader on that occasion, too.
Speaking to media persons on the issue, Sanjay alleged that CM K Chandrashekar Rao was the main conspirator behind the attacks on his party activists and him, and that the CM was himself creating the law and order problems. He alleged that eight vehicles of BJP activists had been damaged in the attacks of the ruling party leaders, and that the law and order situation had completely deteriorated in the state, as evinced by the fact that the police had not taken any steps despite the submission of his party's field visit schedules in advance.
Sanjay asked the CM if he intended to go on carrying out vicious attacks like that against people just for demanding that the state government procure paddy from the farmers of the state. He also claimed that the CM himself had organised such dharnas - instead of solving the problems of the farmers.
He however said that despite any number of such attacks, the BJP would not leave the CM till the purchase of paddy from the farmers.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah called up Sanjay and inquired about the incidents that took place during his visit of Nalgonda district. The national president of the BJP J P Nadda and state in-charge of the party Tarun Chug also called up Sanjay on the issue.
