Telangana Minister for Power G Jagadish Reddy today slammed the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for creating hurdles for Telangana in the purchase of power utilities.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Reddy said that the Naidu-led government violated AP Reorganisation Act norms by stalling 58.39% of the share from Krishnapatnam and Hinduja power plants by cancelling PPAs.
"However our officials and staff from the State-level to the village-level have succeeded in their efforts to achieve power targets. We have purchased 2,000 MW of power in open tenders and kept the promise of giving power to agriculture, domestic and industry," he claimed.
Reddy accused Naidu of conspiring against Telangana and preventing private companies from selling power to the State. He alleged that the TDP leaders in Telangana were trying to malign the TRS government on power projects. The State government gave Bhadrachalam power plant project to BHEL with transparency.
"The Naidu government has deceived us for the second time after promising to sell power. The AP CM made deliberate attempts to deceive Telangana and hindered its power projects," he fumed.
