Telangana Rashtra Samithi Sircilla MLA Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao on Saturday took serious objection to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy expressing his inability to introduce a resolution on a Telangana state in the Assembly.
Talking to media persons at the Assembly's Media Point, KTR demanded that the Chief Minister withdraw his statement ruling out a Telangana resolution in the House, since, he claims, it has hurt the sentiments of people in the region.
He said that the state government must introduce a resolution in the House to prove its commitment towards Telangana statehood, and that it must help the Union government take an early decision on the issue.
The TRS MLA also appealed to Opposition Leader N Chandrababu Naidu to extend his support to the Telangana resolution on the lines of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawathi, who passed a resolution to divide her state into 4 parts.
He said that he also suspects Naidu's commitment on moving the No-Confidence Motion against the Kiran Kumar Reddy government.
KTR alleged that with the CBI preparing to begin its preliminary enquiry into his (Naidu's) assets, Naidu was enacting a "political drama" in the House through the No-Trust Motion, by indirectly supporting the government.
Meanwhile, TRS Floor Leader Eetela Rajender stated that his party would support the Naidu's No-Confidence Motion since he said the Kiran Kumar Reddy government has failed on all fronts.
"Our main aim is to dethrone the government," he said.
Eetela also expressed his disappointment at the Speaker not permitting a discussion on the Telangana resolution ever since the session began. (INN)
