TJAC is seriously contemplating participating in the 2014 elections. Committee members feel that the formation of Telangana state will be hastened by their pro-Telengana prescence at Assemblies and other decision-making bodies.
Addanki Dayakar, who expressed the desire to contest from Nalgonda, said that he wouldn't mind getting into politics, as his job in the committee can be taken over by someone else equally passionate about the cause. Another senior leader Srinivas Goud has been prepping Kukatpally of Rangareddy district to try and contest from there. Several other members also said that they wouldn't mind more than dipping their toes in the pool of state politics.
The consesus is not unanimous as a section of TJAC is against entering politics before the aim of the committee, i.e. the formation of Telangana state, has been achieved. They are concerned that the cause will be lost while contenders scramble for the biggest chunk of the vote bank.
