Bus Pass Fares Increase By Over 20% In Hyderabad

The ordinary pass fare will rise from Rs 1,150 to Rs 1,400, Metro Express from Rs 1,300 to Rs 1,600, and Metro Deluxe from Rs 1,450 to Rs 1,800.
Hyderabad | 9th June 2025
The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has hiked bus pass fares across all categories, increasing them by more than 20%.

The cost of the ordinary bus pass has risen from Rs 1,150 to Rs 1,400, that of the Metro Express has been increased from Rs 1,300 to Rs 1,600, and the Metro Deluxe pass now costs Rs 1,800, up from Rs 1,450.

This surge in prices is expected to significantly impact employees and individuals who rely on public transport for their daily commute, especially those engaged in small and medium-scale jobs in the city.

It is worth noting that Metro fares too had been hiked about a month earlier, but following strong backlash from commuters, some adjustments were made. A similar wave of opposition is now building on social media against the RTC's latest decision, with growing calls for the hike to be revoked.
