India is now on a nationwide terror alert, after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) warned Union Home Minister P Chidambaram of 144 terrorists who have infiltrated the borders.
Most of the terrorists have reportedly entered through Tamil Nadu and Kerala via the sea. Two arrests have been made in the Nepal border over suspicion.
The CBI has told the Home Minister that terror attacks are mainly being aimed at the nation's soft targets - Bangalore and Hyderabad.
Hyderabad has already been on a
terror alert since Tuesday, 27 April, and tight security measures have been placed all over the city. The Hyderabad police, after a week-long hunt, succesfully caught LeT operative Mohammad Zia-ul-Haq on Monday.
