A woman in the Nagarkurnool district suffered serious injuries after her assailant, a colleague, slit her throat for fighting his sexual advances.

In a brutal and heart-wrenching incident, a woman at Vellampalli in the Nagarkurnool district suffered serious injuries after her assailant, a colleague, slit her throat for refusing his sexual advances. The incident occurred on Friday on the outskirts of Vellampalli.
As per reports, accused D Naresh and the victim (whose name shall not be revealed) work at a real estate firm.
As per the Police, on Friday, he asked her to accompany him to meet a friend and on their way, he tried to molest her. The woman fought back, after which she was brutally attacked on the throat with a sharp bayonet.
"The woman managed to escape. Later, a few locals witnessed her bleeding and crying for help, and informed the police besides shifting her to a State-run hospital in Hyderabad," the cops said.
The police, who investigated the crime scene, also recovered a petrol can apart from the long knife.
A case has been registered under section 307 (attempt to murder) of IPC, and a manhunt to nab the accused has been launched. The woman, whose condition is critical, is still undergoing treatment.
