Telangana Will Soon Overcome Energy Crisis: KTR

Information Technology Minister K Tarakarama Rao on Tuesday expressed confidence that the Telangana government would soon overcome the energy crisis.

Speaking to media persons, KTR said that the power which was being purchased from Chattisgarh would reach the State in the next 2 months.

Further, the government had started taking initiatives to generate more thermal power in the State.

He said that the proposed 4,000 MW power plant at Ramagundem would be ultra-modern, and would be set up at a cost of nearly Rs 8,000-10,000 crores.

In the second phase, the government would set up a 1,000 MW solar power plant, he added.

KTR said that efforts were on to purchase more power from Chattisgarh and Jharkhand. (INN)
