BJP floor leader in the Telangana Assembly Dr K Lakshman on Thursday said that the development of the entire Telangana state would be hit if BJP candidate Jagga Reddy failed to win the by-election for the Medak Lok Sabha constituency.
Addressing a press conference at the State BJP office, Lakshman said the outcome of the Medak by-elections would have a long-term impact on the developmental activities in the State.
He alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was not serious about the development of the new State, and after the victory in the Medak by-polls he would further neglect developmental activities.
Therefore, in order to force the TRS government to work in a positive direction, it was necessary for Medak's voters to ensure the victory of the BJP candidate T Jayaparakash Reddy alias Jagga Reddy.
He promised that the BJP would ensure the extension of the Hyderabad Metro Rail project from Miyapur up to Sangareddy if it won the Medak by-elections.
Lakshman said that the TRS had come to power by making promises on four major issues related to power, water, farmers and students. However, KCR did not pay attention to any of these issues after taking over power.
He alleged that KCR had been using a section of the media to give dramatic twists to these issues. He was afraid of even convening an Assembly session to discuss these issues of high public importance, he said.
Further, he alleged that the Chief Minister was taking legal opinion on passing the State's Budget through an ordinance. (INN)
