Will Quit Politics If Jagga Reddy Wins: Harish Rao
The Irrigation Minister said Medak voters would reject both the Congress and the BJP for their dual stands on Telangana and non-cooperation in its growth.
Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Thursday said that he would quit politics if BJP candidate T Jayaprakash Reddy alias Jagga Reddy won the Medak Lok Sabha by-election.
Speaking to media persons, Harish Rao said that he was accepting the challenge of TDP leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao of retiring from politics if Jagga Reddy managed to win the by-polls.
He also asked whether Errabelli was ready to do the same if the BJP candidate lost the election.
Harish Rao said that the TRS candidate Kotha Prabhakar Reddy was all set to win the by-election with a thumping majority.
He said that the people of Medak would reject both the Congress and the BJP due to their dual stands on Telangana and non-cooperation in the development of the new State.
He also thanked the CPI and CPI (M) for extending support to the TRS candidate. He asked the TRS cadre to campaign in close coordination with the workers of the Left parties.
The by-election for Medak Lok Sabha seat, which fell vacant due to the resignation of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, is scheduled to be held on September 13. (INN)
