As part of the Covid-19 inoculation drive commencing on Friday, the Telangana government has made arrangements to kickstart the program in as many as 1,213 centres across the state.
Initially 30 health workers will be inoculated at centre. The centres will remain open for four days a week, including on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
So far, the state government has obtained the details of 3.15 lakh health workers, both from government and private hospitals, for the purpose of vaccination drive.
Talking to the media ahead of the big launch, state Public Health Director Dr Srinivas Rao disclosed that 139 centres will be functional on the first day of the drive.
He also assured the people that all the necessary steps had been taken to ensure a successful immunisation drive in the state.
"We received 3.84 lakh doses of the injections, and 50,000 each were distributed among the districts. From primary health centres to teaching hospitals, all the vaccination centres have been equipped with the necessary infrastructure to carry out the vaccinations successfully. Nodal officers will monitor the vaccination drive and take care of the problems if any," Rao said.
During the recent dry run conducted in the capital city, Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan had
urged the people to readily get the vaccinations, and had assured them of the efficacy and safety of the same.
