State To Set Up World-Class Life Sciences University
IT Minister Sudhir Babu invited investors, researchers and entrepreneurs to join the State in shaping the future of healthcare and life sciences.

Telangana IT and Industries Minister Sridhar Babu today announced the State's plan to establish a dedicated Life Sciences University.
Speaking at the inauguration of BioAsia 2025 at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC), Babu said, "This forthcoming university, designed in collaboration with industry leaders, aims to cultivate global expertise and drive innovation in the life sciences sector."
For the unversed, the life sciences sector is seen as a pillar of economic growth in Telangana, reportedly directly employing 51,000 individuals and indirectly supporting 1,50,000 livelihoods. The upcoming Life Sciences University reportedly aims to nurture a new generation of skilled professionals tailored for this dynamic industry.
The minister also spoke of Genome Valley, and described it as the epicentre of life sciences in India, propelling Telangana to the forefront of global biotech and pharmaceutical research. He said that the government was committed to further elevating this hub by attracting cutting-edge research and fostering groundbreaking discoveries.
"Telangana is not just keeping pace with the world; it is setting the pace. Our State's prominence in this field is the culmination of over two decades of vision, perseverance and innovation," the minister claimed, and invited investors, researchers and entrepreneurs to join the State in shaping the future of healthcare and life sciences.
"The time is now, the place is Telangana, and the future is limitless," he said.
