End To Intermediate Board, Private Colleges Nexus?
Telangana Education Minister Jagadish Reddy alleged some private educational institutions run by Seemandhra investors had a strong influence over the BIE.

Telangana Education Minister G Jagadish Reddy has expressed his resolve to end the nexus between private educational institutions and the Board of Intermdiate Education.
While replying to a question in the State Assembly during the Question Hour, the minister alleged that some private educational institutions, run by Seemandhra investors, had a strong influence over the Board of Intermediate Education.
He said that some officials had been trying to break the system in order to benefit certain private institutions.
However, he said that the government would take immediate measures to end the nexus.
He said that despite the bifurcation, the Telangana government was finding it difficult to release separate schedules for intermediate examinations.
Earlier, the minister denied any irregularities in the Telugu Akademi.
Answering a question raised by Congress MLA Ch Vamshichand Reddy, he informed that the Telugu Akademi was purchasing paper through tender notifications.
"For the adademic year 2013-14, white paper cost was Rs 51,700 per ton. Multi-colour printing cost increased from 45 paise to 75 paise," he said.
For the academic year 2014-15, all the Telugu medium 1st year intermediate books had been published and distributed in time, he said.
The Telugu Akademi had published books pertaining to Social Studies after the receipt of the syllabus, he added.
He also admitted that some private publishers were making a killing as Telugu Akademi books had no copyrights. (INN)
